Sports Day at Castelli is a firm favourite with students, parents and staff alike. Competition is fierce, but not in the way you would expect, because we combine our sports day with a banquet of home-made international foods, lovingly prepared by the mums and dads of our school’s community – who remarkably and skillfully combine healthy with delicious.
Parents and staff also join forces to offer a wide range of sport games that include: tug-of-war, pillow fights, dressing up relay races, egg and spoon races and other highly inventive a often quite hilarious competitions for the pupils to participate in. Typically we also manage to include some fun side-shows such as pony-rides and face-painting.
The games are played in houses, with children from different classes competing to win points for their house. This encourages students and parents to mix across the years. Cheering and laughter ripples across the campus.
