[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Community Service is a program designed to develop a spirit of discovery, self reliance and a sense of responsibility towards all members of the community. This also helps build and maintain a happy and healthy community. The school community strives to reduce the amount of waste produced by reusing, recycling, refilling, repairing and composting (see the pyramid). Our students enthusiastically care for and tend to the environment, they volunteer to pick up and separate the litter, recycle the lunch left-overs into compost and food for the animals. Children are encouraged to choose snacks that have the absolute minimum plastic wrapping and refill their, preferably non-plastic, water bottles.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][us_gallery ids=”3586,3570,3568,3564,3562″ columns=”5″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The school garden offers a unique opportunity for children to create their own 0 Km seasonal snacks. In the fall, their creations are: kale chips, roasted pumpkin seeds and pumpkin cookies. They also enjoy picking chestnuts in the school’s chestnut grove and making roast chestnuts at home.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][us_single_image image=”3592″ align=”center” animate=”fade” animate_delay=””][/vc_column][/vc_row]
