[vc_row height=”small”][vc_column][vc_column_text]This has been a wonderful year for our extremely enthusiastic female footballers in class 4 and 5. They played remarkably well to reach the final of the Ambrit International School tournament in early January. They beat two St George’s teams, one Ambrit team and drew with Southlands en route to the final. In the final, however, they were beaten by a highly impressive Southlands team.
In March, the girls played at Ambrit again and actually played even better as they began to show off the passing game they have been working so hard on. Despite winning several games, they conceded a very late goal which cost them a place in the final. They were so close but left Ambrit very proud of their wonderful efforts.
Congratulations also went to class 3, who won the under-nine’s tournament.
Castelli’s class 5 and prima media team have had another wonderfully successful year! With their stunning brand of passing, attacking football, they swept aside all other teams en route to winning the Southlands English School School Cup in early April. Coaches and parents alike from competing schools couldn’t help but compliment their style of play as they cruised to the final. In the final they faced a determined Southlands team, who themselves have had a great year. Despite their best efforts, they were unable to stop Castelli who comfortably won 4-0.
Castelli’s class 5 and prima media team also impressed greatly en route to the final of the Ambrit International School tournament in November. Having won all their games convincingly including a victory over Ambrit, they were beaten in the final by that same Ambrit team 3-2. As subsequent events proved, they learned from that defeat and won at the next opportunity.
