Castelli International School is one of the most exciting and stimulating green bilingual schools in Europe. Founded in 1977, the school is beautifully situated on a hilltop overlooking Rome, surrounded by vineyards and olive groves on the slopes of the Alban hills.

CIS is the only fully integrated bilingual private day school in Italy catering for children from grades one through eight. CIS bases its educational philosophy on a Chinese proverb:

Views of the School

The school’s primary objective is to provide a stimulating educational environment for international families living south of Rome and in the
Castelli Romani area. CIS believes that the children, being naturally curious, are eager to learn, and that they learn best through inquiry, experience, trial and error.

From Earth to Table Launched April 2010

As part of a family of projects to green Castelli International, we’ve been hard at work setting up allotments for our Elementary School. Grades 1 through 5 have been raking the earth and planting tasty treats for a harvest later in the year. Why not watch us grow, click on our

The healthy country-side atmosphere allows children to experience the joy of learning and the excitement of discovery in a happy, caring and supportive environment. Our international curriculum integrated with the bilingual program offers a broad and enriching learning experience
where children participate in the diversity of cultures and mother tongue language. Children learn from each other and acquire the skills needed to relate to the world around them.
